It all started when...
In July of 2013, Larry James, CEO of CitySquare, invited our founder Elisabeth Jordan to spend time with the homeless on the streets of South Dallas.
Unaware of the poverty that existed so close, Elisabeth was moved that hot July day. There was something about being close — close enough to see, to help, to touch people that kept her coming back.
Today, The Human Impact exists to bridge the relational gap between rich and poor, homeless and not, north and south. We invite people in, to experience the beauty and joy that comes from shaking a hand or meeting a need.
We need each other — so that we all may have more empathy. Together, we find an outlet to use our varied gifts and resources for good. Change happens here, and life gets richer ... not just for the homeless but for us all.
