Our Work is For Every "One"

This year we've been reflecting on what it means to do this work for "the one"—the one God places in front of us to see, listen to, encourage, or simply sit with. Our stories most often highlight the one friend we met on the street, the one person experiencing homelessness, or the one who recently found housing.
But this ministry of presence doesn’t stop there. “The one” is not only found on the streets or through our advocacy work—it is also you: our donors, staff, volunteers, and every person who chooses to walk alongside us.
We believe every person is created in God’s image and worthy of love. While it’s true that our friends on the street experience neglect and loneliness in very visible ways, the longing to be loved, to belong, to be seen and valued is not unique to them—it is woven into the human experience. Whether housed or unhoused, young or old, wealthy or struggling, polished on the outside or carrying hidden burdens, each of us longs for connection, friendship, and belonging just as much as we need food, water, shelter, and safety.
If you’ve ever volunteered with us, come to an event, or simply supported us from afar, we hope you’ve felt that sense of community—rooted in God’s presence and love. We are so grateful for the many ways you’ve joined us in this work over the years.
